A message from the Chairman;

Since the Friends of Delapre Abbey formed in 2001 we have achieved a huge amount. We have successfully campaigned against the sale of Delapre Abbey. We are now working with Northampton Borough Council and have set in motion Delapre Abbey Trust, an independent trust that will take over ownership of the Abbey and gardens. We have drawn up development plans for the future and have begun finding user groups and partners that will be part of the Trust. We have and continue to host many community and private events at Delapre Abbey. This has been achieved through the dedication and tenacity of the committee with the support and commitment of the members of FoDA.

With us now having office, meeting and display rooms in the Old Stable Block there is real opportunity for members to become involved in the areas that we are most passionate about. Whether it’s History, Horticulture, Arts, Events, or just being part of the community building its own future, now is the time to join FoDA. Whatever you can contribute there is a place for you to make a difference through Delapre Abbey. Help in the Gardens, or a Renovation Project, open the Display Room or assist with an Event, show your Art or give a History Talk. What ever your skills and however much time you can give there is a place for you to make a difference at Delapre Abbey. Alternatively if you just want to be kept informed of what's going on at the Abbey without becoming any more involved, we send regular newsletters to all our members.

FoDA membership is only £12 per year, or £6 if you are over 60 and is renewable on 1st April each year. A life membership is available for a one of payment of £60 or £30 if you are over 60. You will get a newsletter (currently twice a year) and be able to help build the future of Delapre Abbey. If you are paying online, please pay £1 (or 50p for over 60's) for each complete month remaining before 1st April.
